My name is Dr. Peter Folliard. I'm the Dean of the Augustana University School of Music. Really excited to share with you about our new School of Music and all the new programs that we have to offer. So not only can you major in traditionally your Music Performance or your Music Education fields. Here, you can major in Music Entrepreneurship, where you'll have three core components of studying. One, your discipline of music. Two, software, standard courses, and video, audio editing and music notation software. And then last but not least, those essential entrepreneurial skills that you need to survive today as a musician. Whether you want to make music as a major or whether you want to make music as a non-major, this is a great place for you. There's a spot for everybody in all of our ensembles. Here at Augustana, we offer a BA in Theater. We have four mainstage productions a year that are on our main stage. A lot of our students come from all across campus. They don't necessarily major in theater to be a part of our productions. We also have relationships with the Washington Pavilion and the Sioux Falls Community Theater. In both of those organizations, our students are able to gain outside experience in all aspects of theatrical production. At Augustana University, we have multiple paths to a Fine Art degree in the visual arts. We have a Bachelor of Arts liberal arts degree, and we also have Art Education and a Pre-architecture degree and then we offer the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree as well. But within those degrees, students can concentrate on a wide range of media of their choosing. We have the benefit of being a small tailored experience in a relatively large metropolitan area that has a growing and very vibrant art scene. So we feel that by the time they leave here, they'll already be connected to a creative community and one that can continue to support them post-graduation.
