SKOL is Augustana school spirit club. We really focus on game days and student involvement. So we work tailgates the student section. We do a lot of giveaways. We sponsor Augie Fan Fridays. Our main goal is to be able to hype up our student athletes and performers, you know, really trying to get that Augie spirit up. What is special about game day for me at Augustana in our football program is the environment-- the atmosphere. The opportunity for us to play in such a great stadium and an amazing fan base. Our student body keeps growing, and the experience they have adds so much energy for our players. When they come through the tunnel, they know it's going to be a lifetime memorable experience. Something that they're going to look back two years from now, and say what that felt like to play on Kayo and look out there. My favorite part about Game Day is putting on our blue and yellow stripe overall. And then we get in our school golf cart, and we got a giant speaker. And we drive around campus, and we're yelling It's game day!--See at the stadium or the field, whatever the case may be that day. Some more events we've done with SKOL is we've done a beanbag tournament for soccer, softball, football and baseball. So last year we set up a few beanbag boards people came, and won some awesome prizes-- while watching the soccer games. The really cool part about Augie is it is a smaller school, so we're able to recognize the athletes out there. And knowing majority of them makes the connection, and sharing a little bit more fun knowing who you cheering for, and connecting the dots between the classroom, and on the field.
